Bryant Robertson

Mike Robertson Racing Incident Statement

Our family has raced at Bowman Gray Stadium for three generations.  This track has both a history and a reputation for last-lap spin outs to win a race and it continues to be allowed.  In this case, it was allowed twice – in the same race.

It is not unusual for an altercation or discussion to occur in these situations in this sport.  We are competitors.  Our livelihood and often our life savings are invested.  What was unprecedented was the irresponsible and dangerous use of a stock car as a weapon, risking my life and further elevating the situation.

We are thankful no one was seriously injured and we regret that our family and our personal reputations have been involved.  We hope that this incident will call attention to the need for a more regulated and safer environment at this track.

Rough End To 2012 Season For Bryant Robertson

Rough End To 2012 Season For Bryant Robertson

Winston-Salem, NC (August 20, 2012) The 2012 race season ended on a rough note for Bryant Robertson Motorsports on Saturday night at Bowman Gray Stadium.

Lining up for the final Sportsman Division race of the season in the top-10, Robertson’s No. 72 Chevy appeared aimed and ready for battle at the famed 1/4-mile.  In order to avoid a first lap wreck, Robertson fell back to 10th, but was able to fight back to eighth by lap 14.

Just four short laps later Robertson was pushed into the infield causing extensive damage to the No. 72 Gale Force Suspension/Speedpro Imaging/Central Carolina Pet Services Chevrolet. After an extensive visit to the pits for repairs, Robertson attempted to return to this race, but the damage was too extensive and ended his night early, resulting in a last place finish.

Although a difficult end to his season, Robertson proved that he is a top contender in this division with a top-10 finish in the Sportsman Division points battle.

“This was definitely not the finish to the 2012 season that I was hoping,” said Robertson.  I am just grateful for the opportunities that I received this season with a hard working team and some terrific partners who made my competing at the stadium this season possible.  I am looking forward to proving that we are still the team to beat next year.”

Robertson Motorsports Returns to Racing Roots

At Bowman Gray Stadium

Winston-Salem, NC (August 6, 2012) Robertson Motorsports made a return to their racing roots on Saturday night during Strutmasters.com weekend at Bowman Gray Stadium, resulting in three top-10 finishes.

Starting the night off, veteran, Mike Robertson, driving for his son in the No. 31 Sheetz Chevy, made his return to the Madhouse racing against his brother series regular, Bryant Robertson, in the 40-lap Sportsman Division race.

Starting near the back of the 23 car field, it didn’t take long for Bryant to move his No. 72 Gale Force Suspension/Speedpro Imaging/Central Carolina Pet Services Chevrolet into the top-10 despite being caught up in a large pile-up on the backstretch early in this race. Continuing to push his way around the famed ¼-mile, Bryant was able to speed past his brother, who had continued to hold his seventh place starting position throughout this race, into the top six. Holdingthis position, Bryant was able to cross the finish line in sixth with his brother following in seventh.

Continuing the historic return of Robertson Motorsports, Madhouse veteran, Gerald Robertson, also made his return to the famed 1/4-mile in the visiting 20-lap East Coast Flathead Ford Association Modified race. With more than 30 years experience at historic Bowman Gray Stadium, Gerald was able to show his competitors that experience pays off with a fourth place finish in this race.

“This was a great night,” said Bryant Robertson. “I had a blast racing against and banging bumpers with my brother and it was even better to watch my dad returning to his roots in a Flat Head Modified.”

Bryant Robertson will return to the track on Saturday, August 11, for the twin 20-lap Sportsman Division races, at Bowman Gray Stadium. For the latest news on Bryant Robertson and the entire Robertson Motorsports team, visit www.BryantRobertsonRacing.com.

Top 10 Finish for Bryant Robertson at Bowman Gray Stadium

Top 10 Finish for Bryant Robertson

at Bowman Gray Stadium

Winston-Salem, NC (July 2, 2012) After a few difficult weeks at the Madhouse, Bryant Robertson began a resurgence, on Saturday night, with an eighth place finish in the heated 60-lap Sportsman Division feature race at Bowman Gray Stadium.

Starting in the 10th position, Robertson began weaving through the 21 car field and was up to the sixth position after only eight laps. Although obtaining damage to the front end of the No. 72 Speedpro Imaging / Gale Force Suspension Chevrolet, during the first of 10 cautions, Robertson continued to make his way through the field.

After falling back to seventh, Robertson narrowly avoided a two car spin on the backstretch on lap 28, where he reclaimed the sixth position. Continuing a strong run, Robertson looked like he would continue in this position until losing control on the slick quarter mile on lap 35, which left him spinning into the infield. Making a brief visit to the pits, Robertson returned to the track prior to losing a lap, where he was listed in the 12th position.

Not letting anything stand in his way from the best finish possible, Robertson put the hammer down and was back in the top-10 with just 13 laps remaining. After the drop of the last caution flag, Robertson was able to drive into the eighth position where he crossed the finish line.

Although hoping for a front row finish, Robertson said that he was happy with this top-10 finish.

“The last few weeks have been very difficult,” said Robertson. “Fortunately, my hard working team and supportive sponsors Speedpro Imaging, Gale Force Suspension, Central Carolina Pet Services (CCPS) and Moretz Home Improvements have made it possible for a comeback.”

After a week off for the 4th of July holiday, Bryant Robertson will continue on his come back campaign on Satuday, July 14 at the famed quarter mile. For the latest news on Bryant Robertson and the entire Robertson Motorsports team, visit www.BryantRobertsonRacing.com.

Madhouse Bites Back

Madhouse Bites Back

Tough Night For Robertson Motorsports

Winston-Salem, NC: After what looked like a promising night, which started with one of the fastest qualifying speeds of 14.957 for the Sportsman 100 at Bowman Gray Stadium, Bryant Robertson experienced the wrath of the Madhouse first hand.

After drawing a sixth place starting position, next to his nephew Ryan Robertson, Bryant Robertson began to experience the first of many challenges. Starting this race off with a loose car, Robertson fell back to eighth during the first few laps where he held steady until the race leader blew an engine on lap 30. After jumping into the sixth position by lap 49, next to the No. 81 of Zack Clifton, Robertson was spun when Clifton brushed the wall in turn one, on lap 50, and claimed the No. 72 Gale Force Suspension/Speedpro Imaging Chevrolet.

Fortunately, Robertson got back on track and jumped from 16th to 13th after only two laps. After paying Clifton back for the earlier spin, Robertson fell back to the 18th position. Pushing his way through the field, causing extensive damage to the front end of the No. 72, Robertson was able to climb his way back to 14th before the caution flag was flown on lap 76. Unfortunately, the damage received during the spin on lap 50 and while pushing through the field Robertson took the No. 72 to the pits and didn’t return back to the track until lap 99.

Returning to the track several laps down in the extended Sportsman race, Robertson attempted to limp around the track, but returned to the pits after realizing that the damage was too extensive. Robertson’s nephew, Ryan Robertson, also witnessed this curse first hand after running near the front of the field most of the night but losing his engine and hitting the wall hard in turn two with just a few laps remaining in this wreck filled race.

“This was a frustrating and difficult night,” said Robertson. “Fortunately, I have one of the hardest working teams in the business and we will come back from this.”

Bryant Robertson will return to Bowman Gray Stadium next Saturday night for the twin 20-lap Sportsman Division races. For the latest news on Bryant Robertson and the entire Robertson Motorsports team, visit www.BryantRobertsonRacing.com.

Sportsman Division Points Battle Kicks Into High Gear At The Madhouse

Sportsman Division Points Battle Kicks Into High Gear At The Madhouse

Winston-Salem, NC: Starting off Saturday night on the top of the Sportsman Division points battle at Bowman Gray Stadium, Bryant Robertson, witnessed the challenge that being on the top can bring.

After a successful practice, which proved that Robertson’s No. 72 Gale Force Suspension/Speedpro Imaging Chevrolet would be one of the fastest on track, Robertson drew the 22nd starting position for the first of two Sportsman Division races. Although this wasn’t the ideal draw, Robertson was able to rise to the challenge and made his way into the top 15 on the first lap of the 20-lap Sportsman race.

Robertson continued a forward pace until he was bumped and made loose by the No. 3 of Jeff Garrison, causing Robertson to fall back to 16th. Fortunately, in the final laps Robertson was able to make his way back to the top 15, crossing the finish line in 13th.

The challenges continued into the second 20-lap Sportsman Division race at the Madhouse. In what looked like a promising start, Robertson lined up in the fourth place starting position. After the wave of

the green flag Robertson focused on moving up to the top three. After battling with the No. 86 of Taylor Branch and almost ending up against the wall of turn three, Robertson fell back to the sixth position.

Continuing to hold this position, Robertson was spun by the No. 18 of of Kenny Bost with just seven laps to go. Although he would have to battle back from the 16th position, Robertson was able to battle back for a 12th place finish.

“Although I am disappointed with these finishes, the No. 72 felt like a rocket and I know that this team will come back from this,” said Robertson.

Bryant Robertson will be back on track for next Saturday night’s Sportsman 100 lap feature at the Madhouse. For the latest news on Bryant Robertson and the entire Robertson Motorsports team, visit www.BryantRobertsonRacing.com.

Video: Racing Into Points Lead Of Sportsman Division

Winston-Salem, NC:  After a difficult start to race night, the team of Bryant Robertson Motorsports persevered to give driver, Bryant Robertson, a pair of top five finishes and the lead in the Sportsman Division points at Bowman Gray Stadium.

After an evening that started with a broken driveshaft on the No. 72 Chevrolet, prior to the first Sportsman Division race, the team of Bryant Robertson motorsports raced to get their driver back on track and competition ready.

After making the necessary repairs driver, Bryant Robertson, lined up for the first 20-lap Sportsman Division in the 11th starting position.  After the drop of the green flag it wasn’t long before Robertson was able to weave his way up to the top five of the 22-car field.  In fact, by lap five Robertson was running in the fourth position where he remained until the drop of the checkered flag.

Robertson’s luck continued to improve after drawing the fifth starting position in the second Sportsman Division race.  Much like the first race, it didn’t take long for Robertson to jump ahead of the field and move into the third position by the third lap of the 20-lap race.  Despite a close call with three laps to go in this race, Robertson was able to stay in the top three where he raced across the finish line and into the points lead in the 2012 Bowman Gray Stadium Sportsman Division.

“Wow!  After the way we started this night this is not what I expected,” said Robertson.  “This team worked really hard to get the No. 72 back on track and the car was great, but we still have some work to do to hold onto this lead.”

“A special thanks to our marketing partners who have given me and my team a chance to succeed, including Gale Force Suspension, Speedpro Imaging, Central Carolina Pet Services and Moretz Home Improvements.

Robertson Continues To Show Momentum

Robertson Continues To Show Momentum

Another Successful Run at Bowman Gray Stadium

Winston-Salem, NC:  Bryant Robertson, driver of the No. 72 Robertson Motorsports Chevrolet, continued a successful march to a championship, in the Sportsman Division, with two top ten finishes on Saturday night at Bowman Gray Stadium.

Starting in the eighth position of the first 20-lap Sportsman Division race, Robertson endured every challenge thrown at him.   Starting the night with an ill handling race car, Robertson was able to maneuver into the seventh position within three laps.  As the caution flag flew on lap six, the 22 car field piled up resulting in damage to the No. 72 Chevrolet.  Fortunately, Robertson battled against his damaged car and finished the first 20-lapper in the seventh position

Due to the damage received in the first Sportsman Division race, Robertson lined up his No. 72 Chevrolet, for the second race, with no hood.  Even this challenge didn’t stop this talented driver, who was able to move from his fourth place starting position into the top three after the first of 20-laps.  Although continuing to battle a loose race car, Robertson was able to hold off the competition and cross the finish line in third, solidifying his top three position in the Sportsman Division points battle.

“Although the No. 72 received some damage, this was a great night,” said Robertson.  “This hard working team is off to a competitive start and we are lucky to have the necessary partnerships with companies like Gale Force Suspensions, Speedpro Imaging, Central Carolina Pet Services and Moretz Home Improvements to assure continued success.”

Bryant Robertson will continue his success at the Madhouse in next Saturday’s twin Sportsman Division races.  For the latest news on Bryant Robertson and the entire Robertson Motorsports team, visit www.BryantRobertsonRacing.com.

Winston-Salem, NC:  After a long off season, Bryant Robertson kicked his 2012 race season into high gear, at Bowman Gray Stadium, with a new design and a new attitude.  Adopting the mantra “whatever it takes”, Robertson took his No. 72 Gale Force Suspension Management/Speedpro Imaging/Central Carolina Pet Services Chevrolet from a 10th place starting position to a top three finish in the opening Sportsman Division race on Saturday night.

Bowman Gray Stadium’s 2012 season opening race began in dramatic fashion with a caution on the first lap.  After dodging through this wreck, Robertson was able to move into the sixth position.  Fighting a tight race car, Robertson continued to weave through the 26 car field and into the top five within the first few laps of this exciting race.

After a three car pile-up on lap 18, in front of the No. 72, Robertson moved into the fourth position.  Continuing to move to the top position in this wreck filled race, the Sportsman Division race reached its 40-minute time limit and ended on lap 22, with Robertson sitting in third place.

“This was a great start to our 2012 season,” said Robertson.  I just wish we could have had a chance to take it to the finish because we had a very competitive car.  I want to thank both my team and marketing partners for a great start to this season!”
