Eventful Weekend for Robertson Motorsports

May 27, 2008

Winston-Salem, NC: Ryan Robertson and Robertson Motorsports had their hands full with testing and racing over the Memorial Day weekend.

The weekend began on Friday with Robertson testing the #31 Savage Energy Chevrolet at Dillon Motor Speedway in Dillon, SC in preparation for the UARA race there this weekend.

“The test went well,” commented team owner Mike Robertson. “We still have some room for improvement, but that is to be expected since this was the first time we had ever been to this track. We are confident about this upcoming race.”

Saturday the team headed to Caraway Speedway in Asheboro, NC to race their #29 Carolina Wood Floors and WSSU Motorsport Management Chevrolet. The team worked hard to get their brake problem figured out, after qualifying 9th.  Robertson raced hard during the 100 lap race, staying on the lead lap and finishing 6th overall.

“I was very proud of everyone on the team,” said Mike. “They are all beginning to work together as a team should.”

Robertson Motorsports driver Scott Hall raced at Bowman Gray Stadium on Saturday night in the #23 Carolina Wood Floors and WSSU Motorsport Management Chevrolet. After an accident in the first of two 20 lap Sportsman races, Hall was unable to get the car back working as well as he would have liked. Hall finished the first race 16th and the second 13th out of 21 cars.

“We were having problems with the car during practice,” said Hall. “We could not get it to where it needed to be, then after the wreck we just did what we could to finish the races and keep the car out there for our sponsors.”

Robertson Motorsports is currently sponsored by Savage Energy, Carolina Wood Floors, WSSU Motorsport Management, WCWG CW 20 and WSJS 600/1200. Robertson will be at the Selma Convenience Store located at 1503 Hwy 9 West in Dillon, SC on Friday for a Savage Energy prerace event. Robertson will then be racing at Dillon Motor Speedway on Saturday, May 31st while Hall races at Bowman Gray Stadium.
