Saturday Night A Good Night for Robertson Motorsports

Winston-Salem, NC: Even though Ryan Robertson and Scott Hall, drivers for Robertson Motorsports, were a state apart, both had strong finishes on Saturday night. Robertson, driver of the #31 Savage EnergyTM Chevrolet raced at Dillon Motor Speedway in Dillon, SC, while Hall raced at Bowman Gray Stadium in Winston-Salem, NC in the #23 Carolina Wood Floors and WSSU Motorsport Management Chevrolet.
After practicing for the UARA race two Fridays ago at Dillon Motor Speedway, the Robertson’s felt like they had the car where it needed to be to race.
“This was only our second UARA race and our first time racing at Dillon,” said Robertson. “We were feeling confident when we were practicing in the middle of the field. We kept getting faster so we knew we were heading in the right direction.”
Robertson qualified 16th in the 27 car field. On lap 35 of the 150 lap race Robertson was involved in a four car wreck in turns three and four. Luckily the Savage EnergyTM car did not sustain any damage. However, it had been tight, so Robertson decided to take advantage of the caution and bring the car in. The crew worked quickly and had Robertson back on the track before the pace car made it around.
When the green flag waved, Robertson was sitting in 25th place. After a strong restart and another quick caution Robertson was up to 22nd. Two more quick cautions later Robertson was starting 19th. Everyone in the field raced hard during the next 83 caution free laps. Robertson was able to work his way up to 13th when the second red flag of the evening was waved on lap 145. Robertson held on to his position to finish 13th during the green-white-checkered finish.
“I am very proud of everyone on the team,” said Team Owner Mike Robertson. “They worked hard to get the car ready for this weekend. Ryan raced a great race. He was able to show everyone he is a contender in the series.”
Hall raced in a 100 lap Sportsman race at the stadium. Unlike drawing for starting positions that is typically done at the Stadium, this weekend the sportsman drivers qualified. Hall broke the track record, but the victory was short lived when another driver broke his record, leaving Hall with the second fastest qualifying time.
The top six drivers redrew putting Hall in the 4th starting spot. Hall raced hard throughout the night but ran out of time at the end of the race and finished second.
Robertson Motorsports is currently sponsored by Savage EnergyTM, Carolina Wood Floors, WSSU Motorsport Management, WCWG CW20 and WSJS 600/1200am. Robertson will be testing at Hickory Motor Speedway in Hickory, NC on Friday in preparation for the UARA race on June 14th. Hall will be running at Ace Speedway on Friday night. Robertson will be running at Bowman Fray on Saturday.
