Hall Wins for Robertson Motorsports at Bowman Gray Stadium
July 14, 2008
Winston-Salem, NC: Scott Hall, driver for Robertson Motorsports and driver of the#23 CarolinaWood Floors and WSSU Motorsport Management Chevrolet won his first race at Bowman Gray Stadium, in Winston-Salem, NC this Saturday night.
“We were all very excited for and proud of Scott,” said Team Owner Mike Robertson. “He is a talented driver and has come close so many times this season. It is good he could get that win.”
The #23 car has been on fire for the past several weeks. It started when teammate, Ryan Robertson, won on June 28th at the Stadium. Hall then brought the car out to Caraway Speedway in Asheboro, NC on July 4th. He qualified on the pole before a hail storm postponed the race.
Hall drew the pole spot for the first of two 20 lap Sportsman races on Saturday. Despite multiple cars trying to bump Hall out of the top spot, he was able to hold on to the lead and take the win.
“I have been able to win at several tracks throughout North Carolina and Virginia but had never been able to clench the win at Bowman Gray,” said Hall. “I am excited to be able to now say I have won there.”
For the second race the top 14 cars were inverted, putting Hall in the 14th starting position of 21 drivers. Despite the short race he was able to work his way through the field to finish 8th.
“We are very excited about the success of Robertson Motorsports and the WSSU Motorsport Management Chevy,” said Dr. Travis Teague, Program Coordinator and Associate Professor of Sport Management. “We are proud of Scott and the whole Robertson Motorsports team
. We are also, excited to continue to spread the word about the Motorsport Management program.”
Hall’s teammate, Ryan and the #29 Carolina Wood Floors and WSSU Motorsport Management Chevrolet headed out to Ace Speedway in Altamahaw, NC on Friday night. Unfortunately after only a few short laps there were problems with the distributor ending the night early.
The team will be joined by Teague and Dr. Jim Hand along with students from WSSU Motorsport Management program at Indigo Joe’s on Tuesday night. They will be on Kickin’ Asphalt with Doc Love and Danny Southard from 7pm -9pm. The #29 car will be on display with students giving out information before the radio show. The crew is working hard to get the #29 car ready for Ryan to race this Friday night at Ace Speedway. Hall will be at Bowman Gray Stadium in the #23 again this Saturday.
