Robertson Finishes Top Ten in UARA Race
August 4, 2008
Altamahaw, NC: Friday night marked Ryan Robertson, driver of the #31 Savage Energy Chevrolet’s, fifth start in the UARA. It also marked his best. Robertson finished 8th in the 152 lap green-white-checkered race at Ace Speedway in Altamahaw, NC.
The day started out well for Robertson as he was running in the top five during both practice sessions for the Savage Energy 150. When it came time to qualify Robertson was ready to go. He was one of the first cars out and turned a 15.670 time which put him starting 7th in the 24 car field.
“I had a good feeling all week about this race,” said Robertson. “Something about having Savage Energy sponsor the race helps get everyone on the team pumped up. We knew we had a good car, it w
as nice to be able to show everyone what we could do.”
Robertson’s teammate Scott Hall did not have as good of a race on Saturday night in the #23 Carolina Wood Floors/WSSU Motorsport Management Chevrolet. Hall started 17th in the 40 lap race at Bowman Gray Stadium in Winston-Salem, NC. He quickly moved up to 5th after avoiding an accident that involved most of the field.
Hall’s night was ended shortly after on lap four when he drove deep into turn 3 and 4 causing him to collide with the #21 car. Sparks were coming out from underneath the #23 car. Hall pitted to check things out, the car was too badly damage to return to the race. Hall finished 20th in the 24 car field.
Robertson’s next UARA race will be at Greenville-Pickens Speedway in Greenville, SC on October 4th. Hall will be back at the Stadium on Saturday for the second to last race of the season.
