Frustrating Season Finale for Hall at Bowman Gray Stadium
August 18, 2008
Winston-Salem, NC: Saturday night marked the final race at Bowman Gray Stadium for the 2008 season. Scott Hall, driver of the #23 Carolina Wood Floors/WSSU Motorsport Management Chevrolet was pumped up and ready to go after drawing the pole.
Hall did not waste any time when the green flag waved as he pulled out quickly at the start of the race. Despite all of the cautions that followed, Hall was able to hold onto his lead for almost the entire race.
On the final lap of the season, going into turn four, Hall was spun out deliberately by Tommy Neal who was looking for his first win of the season regardless who he had to go through to get there.
“It can be frustrating running so well for the entire race to then be spun out and lose it at the end,” said Hall. “That’s Bowman Gray racing though.”
Hall finished 16th out of 24 cars.
“I want to thank everyone, especially my crew chief/brother Jason and the Robertsons, for everything they did to make this a great season at the stadium. I could have never done as well without their help and support.”
This Friday night Hall will be joined by teammate Ryan Robertson at Ace Speedway in Altamahaw, NC. Hall will be driving the #23 Carolina Wood Floors/WSSU Motorsport Management Chevrolet, while Robertson will be in the #29 Carolina Wood Floors/WSSU Motorsport Management Chevrolet. During Hall’s last visit to Ace he qualified on the pole before the race was postponed due to storms. Robertson finished 8th.
Robertson Motorsports is currently sponsored by Savage Energy, Carolina Wood Floors, WSSU Motorsport Management, WCWG CW 20 and WSJS 600/1200AM.
