Robertson Racing and Team CWF entertain Bowman Gray Fans

May 14, 2007

Saturday night was dramatic...in every sense. It began with a sudden thunderstorm which threatened to dampen the evening but seemed to go as quickly as it came. And although the track-drying crew seemed detrmined to steal the show, it was ultimately Carolina Wood Floors' nite at Bowman Gray stadium.

Young Ryan Robertson was on-hand amongst the thousands of Bowman Gray faithful, signing autographs and posing for photos with his #29 late model ride. The team's secondary sponsor, WCWG, was also involved in the evening's activities, with both their mobile production unit and their PT Cruiser making appearances.

The evening, though, seemed to belong to the families, with father and son Jeffreys winning the CWF100 Modified title race, and grandfather and grandson Robertson both making appearances in the stadium stock and sportsman races, respectively. "It was great to see both my Dad and my son racing on the same night", said Ryan's father, Mike, who has had nearly 40 career wins at the same track himself. "I believe we may be the first family to be actively racing all three generations at this track". Bowman Gray stadium, hailed as the longest-running NASCAR sanctioned track in the country, is celebrating its 59th year this year.

Ryan Robertson, who has raced only twice at Bowman Gray, had a strong perfomance at the notoriously "bump and grind" track, finishing 6th and 4th in the two 20-lap sportsman races that evening. "I was glad to give our sponsor, Carolina Wood Floors, a good show", said Robertson, who managed to stay out of trouble in the caution-filled events.

Carolina Wood Floors, located in Winston-Salem, is the triad area's local specialist in hardwood flooring, celebrating the beginning of their 20th year in business. Mike Causby, the company's owner, gave the command to start the title race, presented the winner's trophy, and even took a ride in the track pace car. "We had a ball", said Causby. "We've been real happy with the sponsorship both last year and this year, and look forward to seeing Ryan continue to have a great season this year."
