Robertson Racing Challenging for First Win

June 11, 2007

Elkin, NC: Robertson Racing is still stalking its first win of the season - and came away Friday night at Friendship Motor Speedway in Elkin, NC oh so close...twice. Qualifying second, young Ryan Robertson held his starting position and finished second to "Rock" Harris in both Late Model events of the evening.

It was also the first time that the team had put Jason Myers in the team's #39 car alongside Ryan's #29 twin Carolina Wood Floors Chevrolet. Myers qualified third, right behind his teammate, and finished in the top five in both races as well.

"We came really close", said Ryan Robertson. "The crew has the car really humming now, and it's great to race with Jason." The team hopes to use Myers again during the season. Robertson is now second in points standings at Friendship Motor Speedway.

The team went on to race the ΒΌ mile track at Bowman Gray Stadium on Saturday night, drawing a 19th place starting position in the crowded field and finishing 10th in the first Sportsman race of the evening. Robertson was running third in the second race, but was involved in a wreck and finished 15th.

"I'm real proud of him", said father Mike Robertson, a 30+ time Bowman Gray winner himself. "He's driving his heart out right now, and the whole team has a ton of momentum. We can just feel that win around the corner."

The team is currently sponsored by Carolina Wood Floors, Pat's Body Shop, and WCWG CW20 television station. The team will run at Friendship Motor Speedway again Friday night, June 15th.
