June 25, 2007
Elkin, NC: After taking a weekend off from racing due to rain, Ryan Robertson came back strong Friday night at Friendship Motor Speedway. Robertson and the #29 Carolina Wood Floors Chevrolet took the fastest qualifying time, edging out points leader "Rock" Harris. "It was great to get the pole at our home track," said Robertson. With the track's new starting position draw, Ryan started second, finishing again in the top five alongside his Carolina Wood Floors racing teammate Jason Myers in the twin Carolina Wood Floors #39 Chevrolet. Robertson's record for the season of 25 starts now has 1 pole and 12 top five and 18 top ten finishes.
"I am very proud of this team," owner, Mike Robertson said after Friday night's race. "Every week they continue to show great improvements."
Saturday night was also a successful night for Robertson. Racing at Bowman Gray Stadium in the Sportsman division, Robertson drew 17th position in a field of 21 racers for the first of two 20-lap races. Robertson was able to move his way up to finish 12th in the first 20-lap race of the night and took 7th place in the second race.
The team is currently sponsored by Carolina Wood Floors, Pat's Body Shop, and WCWG CW20 television station. The team will run at Friendship Motor Speedway again Friday night, June 29th in two 35-lap Late Model races, and again on Saturday night, June 30th at Bowman Gray in a 60-lap Sportsman race.
