Weekend of Friday the 13th proves to be lucky for Robertson

July 16, 2007

Winston-Salem, NC: Friday the 13th proved to be a good start to a great weekend. Ryan Robertson and the #29 Carolina Wood Floors Chevrolet qualified third for the Hank Thomas Performance/Sunoco Race Fuels 75 lap race at Friendship Motor Speedway. After a caution free evening, Ryan was able to move up from his number five redraw starting position to finish second behind "Rock" Harris. Team owner, Mike Robertson finished seventh.

Saturday the 14th ended even better for Robertson. He drew the 14th starting position for the first of two 20 lap Sportsman races at Bowman Gray Stadium. Robertson was able to work his way up to finish 10th. Robertson's luck improved for the second race when he drew the fifth starting position. According to Mike Robertson "Ryan made some very aggressive moves to pull it out." Robertson and the #13 Carolina Wood Floors Chevrolet were able to visit the Carolina Woods Floor Winners Circle for the first time this season. Robertson was presented the trophy and a 155-piece Craftsman Mechanics Tool Set for his victory.

"I knew going into Saturday night it would be a good night after the second place finish at Friendship Motor Speedway on Friday," said Ryan. "I was due for a win and had a good feeling Saturday night would be the night."

The team is currently sponsored by Carolina Wood Floors, Pat's Body Shop, and WCWG CW20 television station. They will be running at Friendship Motor Speedway Friday night, July 20th in two ASA Weekly Late Model 35 lap races, and again on Saturday night, July 21th at Bowman Gray in two 20 lap Sportsman races.
